‘Binman’ is the new single from Cat SFX. It’s a punky slice of indie-pop that takes clear inspiration from the likes of PJ Harvey, Psychedelic Furs and even Avril Lavigne. Melody is at the heart of the tune, but the rigid, repeating, almost minimalistic rhythms of the rest of the band play an important in crafting the feel of the track. Cat Speranza says that ‘Binman’ is about: “a toxic relationship: the one between me and alcohol. It's about the fights that you have with your loved one because you’re so drunk again and have caused carnage, and you’re trying to pick up the pieces the next day. And you make up all these excuses, to yourself, to others. So I’m the Binman. I’m the trash that needs taking out.” Their Binman EP drops on July 15th, 2022. -Dan Peeke.
